John Betts map: Large outline hand coloured map in sections and backed onto linen, 30 sections with a paper label at bottom edge stating in period letterpress "Sold by Letts & Son, Cornhill, London Agents by Appointment for the Ordnance Maps of England". Although the name BETT'S is Printed in the titles. Was this an error? The map folds into an open sided.
Condition: There are NO splits in the linen or the sections. and is in good condition for the age of the map. Slight Foxing as to be expected with an item of this age as well as worn edges to the corners and folds.
Measures: Approx 90 x 75 cm. RARE map showing all the canals, railways, principal towns, market towns, roads (before the age of steam proper.
