Irish-born painter of bucolic chocolate-box Victorian paintings in both oils and watercolours. He studied at Liverpool School of Art where he studied under John Finnie and was a founder member of the Liver Sketching Club and a member of the Liverpool Academy of Arts. Woodlock exhibited many works at the Walker Art Gallery and also showed at the Manchester Academy of Fine Arts, Royal Academy of Arts, Royal Society of British Artists, Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours, Royal Scottish Academy and at the Dudley Gallery Art Society. He appears to have been only a part-time artist as the census of 1871 and 1891 record his as a draper in various guises. Examples of his work are held in the collections of Bangor University, Merthyr Tydfil Museum & Art Gallery, National Museums Liverpool and Williamson Art Gallery.
